What We Believe

What We Believe

  • We believe in one God
God the Creator is the only God and not one God among many (monotheism).
  • Creation
The world and universe were created by God.
  • The Divine Trinity
There are three manifestations of one God—God the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit.
  • The Inerrancy of Scripture
The Bible is the inerrant Word of God.
  • The Virgin Birth of Christ
Christ was born into the world by an earthly mother and conceived by the Holy Spirit.
  • The Substitutionary Death of Christ
Jesus the Christ died a vicarious death at Calvary as payment for our sins.
  • The Resurrection of Christ
On the third day, Jesus Christ rose from the dead.
  • The Ascension of Christ
Jesus Christ has ascended back to glory and now abides at the right hand of the Father.
  • The Return of Christ
At the appointed time, Jesus Christ will return to judge the earth and initiate His eternal reign.

Holy Sacraments
We observe two holy sacraments—Baptism (immersion) and Holy Communion.

Church Governance
As a Missionary Baptist Church, we are governed by the majority vote and will of our local congregation.

Our Mission
And Jesus came and spake unto them, saying, All power is given unto me in heaven and in earth. Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost: Teaching them to observe all things whatsoever I have commanded you: and, lo, I am with you always, even unto the end of the world. Amen.  Matthew 28:18-20

Our Vision
Our vision is to build a new church with multiple buildings to house various ministries to lead as many people as possible to know, love, and serve Jesus Christ.

Our Motto
A blessed combination of genuine worship and sincere service.

The following are ways that you can become a member of TMBC:

As a Candidate for Baptism — Acceptance of Christ and a desire to be baptized; Because deciding to follow Christ is such a significant decision, TMBC does not believe that any person can make this choice for another. For this reason, TMBC does not baptize infants or small children.

Through Christian Experience — A prior acceptance of Christ and prior baptism by immersion.

By Letter of Transfer — Prior acceptance of Christ, prior baptism by immersion, and a former membership at another church. In such a case, your former church may write a letter supporting transfer of your membership to TMBC.
